As I try to catch up to this blog I will just add captions to all the photographs I found!! Hopefully they will give a good overview of what we've done this past month!
| We studied fact and opinion. We used our learning about butterflies to write our own fact and opinion statements. |
| Cutting out of ads to practice estimating and adding money. |
| Area robots. The kids created robot and calculated the area of each body part and the total area of their robot. |
| Each student chose a famous American to research and write a biography about. Our 5th grade buddies came down to listen to the biography reports. |
| Lots of SSR. We're becoming GREAT readers!! |
| For St. Patrick's day the students did Lucky Charms graphs. |
| One of our favorite things, writing on desks! The kids were creating lists of words that are capitalized. |
| Animal research! Each child took their research and wrote a nonfiction book about their animal. |
| Character Traits. After studying character traits each child drew a picture of themselves and wrote their own character traits. |
| Students have been using iPad during our literacy and math rotations. After they listen to a Brainpop Jr. or read a news article they write up what they learned that day. |
| Word Sorts! These help with reading unknown words as well as spelling skills. |
